Anand Mehendale, MD, Represents Texas with Inclusion into Renowned Publication The Leading Physicians of the World

The International Association of Healthcare Professionals (IAHCP) has carefully selected Anand Mehendale, MD, to represent neurology in their publication, The Leading Physicians of the World.  Dr. Mehendale’s selection is a significant representation of his passion and dedication for the field of neurology.  He is considered to be among the best among his many years in practice.

Dr. Mehendale is in private practice of neurology at Phoenix Medical Associates in Kerrville, Texas, where he also serves as Head of the Neurobiology Research Unit. He is also the Chief Medical Officer of the Ranch at Clear Springs where he oversees the residential program in Substance Use Disorders (SUD). Furthermore, Dr. Mehendale is the Executive Director of Phoenix Monitoring System and serves on the Governing Board of the Texas Physician Health Program, which is an integral part of the Texas Medical Board.

Dr. Mehendale is a highly regarded expert in addiction issues, specifically substance abuse disorders. At his private practice, he offers comprehensive clinical care for epilepsy, neuropathy, headache, Parkinson’s disease, back pain, dizziness, syncope, and Alzheimer’s disease. Complementing his clinical functions, he is a prolific author with many articles published in peer-reviewed journals, as well as a chapter book on epilepsy in the international book Hemisyndromes. Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Mehendale was part-owner and Executive Medical Director of La Hacienda Treatment Center in Hunt, Texas and Hacienda Del Lago in Guadalajara, Mexico.

In 1976, Dr. Mehendale acquired his Medical Degree from B.J. Medical College in India. He further completed a fellowship in epilepsy and higher cortical dysfunction at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Board-certified in Neurology and Addiction Medicine, he is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Texas Medical Association, Texas Society of Addiction Medicine and International Myopain Society. For three consecutive years between 2010 and 2012, Dr. Mehendale was selected as one of the Super Doctors by Texas Monthly, a list that features less that 5% of the state’s doctors.
