Avri Spilka Becomes a Member of Stanford Who’s Who

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA, January 12, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who/ -- Stanford Who’s Who welcomes Avri Spilka among the ranks of professional individuals as a result of her work in the field of sexual education. As founder of a challenging project, Ctrl Alt Sex, as well as throughout her entire work experience, Avri has demonstrated the determination, commitment, and skill required to be considered among the best.

Ctrl Alt Sex is not only an organization but a concept for change, a brand, and a project. The mission is to promote fresh dialogue on various sexuality-related topics among the members of the South African society. Activity consists of online and live conversations, information exchange, workshops, and therapy. The areas covered include sexual behavior, human sexuality, marriage and family relations, sex counseling, sex education, sex research, journalism and activism, and many more aspects.

The roots of Avri’s current actions can be traced back into her research and study on infant rape, teenage pregnancy, loving relationships and anxiety.  Discovering an efficient and simple solution to cure trauma, Avri started a campaign to educate, inform, and teach positive ways to love. In her work, she uses the benefit of her experience and training in journalism.

Avri Spilka has pursued several paths in her educational career. She started with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Media Studies from Rhodes University followed by a Higher Diploma in Media Studies from the same institution. She obtained an Expert Diploma in Sexology from the Bircham International University accompanied by a Certificate in Counseling Children and Adolescents from the University of South Africa (UNISA). Avri is affiliated with the South Africa Society of Sexual Trainers, Educators and Counselors, AASECT of Rhodes University, Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, Women’s Mental Health, Professional Sexologists, and Human Sexuality Educators.
