Driven by her talent as a Visual Arts Musician, Catherine Gibson embraced the challenges of a career in the arts industry 35 years ago. A multifaceted artist, she writes songs, plays the guitar, sings, and paints. Her professional history also includes her teaching roles with high school and community school students. Catherine commenced her ascension in the arts arena with a solid academic foundation in art education, which allowed her to explore her teaching abilities, as well as pursue her goals as an artist. Her works are featured in many private collections in Australia, the United Kingdom, Vanuatu, and Hong Kong. Over the course of her career, Catherine has held numerous exhibitions and received a variety of prizes and commendations.

In addition to her impressive professional journey, Catherine Gibson also features a remarkable academic foundation that culminated with her Bachelor’s Degree of Art Education from the University of New South Wales, College of Fine Arts. She had previously obtained a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking from the University of New South Wales, College of Fine Arts as well as a Graduate Certificate in Adult Education from UTS. As an affirmation of her passion and commitment to her work, she became a member of the Headland Park Artists Precinct. Two recent events have furthered Catherine’s career: firstly she has joined the professional staff of UNSW School of Art Education & Art History, and secondly her artworks were included in the 7th annual edition International Contemporary Masters VII, published in 2013.
