Chuck McCoy Appears In The Ranks Of Stanford Who’s Who

TORONTO, ON, CANADA,   July 30, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who/ -- Serving as a leader in the radio broadcasting field in Canada, Chuck McCoy has enjoyed a successful career filled with several significant accomplishments, leading to his inclusion in the distinguished ranks of leading professionals with Stanford Who’s Who. Throughout his brilliant professional career, Mr. McCoy has consistently displayed the passion, vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be mentioned among the elite.

With 47 years of experience in the field, Chuck has worked his way from the ground up, beginning his professional career as an on-air personality in 1965 which he did for 9 years including a 6 year on-air stint at an Industry Radio Icon, CHUM-AM .  In 1973, Chuck began his Managerial career as Program Director for CFUN in Vancouver, holding that position until 1979 when he assumed the role of National Program Director for Moffat Communications After serving in that role for 7 years, Mr. McCoy was an independent broadcast consultant until 1989 when he was hired to serve as Vice President and General Manager of Canada's biggest Radio Cluster in Toronto for Rogers Communications.

In his role with Rogers Communications, Chuck was responsible for managing operations for CHFI-FM, 680News, THE FAN and KISS 92.5 along with three stations in Kitchener (570News, CHYM, CKIZ) and one in London (BOB-FM). He always utilized his vast knowledge of radio broadcasting, strategic planning, business development, marketing strategy, competitive analysis, team leadership, and content strategy in running the operations for the stations, keeping them at the top of the Canadian broadcasting industry.

Despite gaining the majority of his expertise through his professional experience in the field, Chuck also attended the University of Winnipeg. Evidencing his remarkable reputation in the industry, he was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2008. In addition, Mr. McCoy was a founding Director for FACTOR in 1981, Chairman of the Radio Starmaker Board from 2005 -2010, and member of several CAB/CRTC radio Consultive Committees, as well as a Member of the Board of BBM and the BBM Radio Executive Committee.

On July 1st, 2012 Chuck announced that after 23 years at Rogers he would be leaving the Company at the conclusion of 2012.  At that time Chuck will start a new chapter in his career and will head up operations of Chuck McCoy International Media Services. This will allow Chuck to make himself and his vast business experience available to Broadcasters and Media Companies around the world.
