Throughout his phenomenal professional career, David W. Harrison has routinely exhibited the passion, vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be mentioned among the elite as well as to experience an enormous amount of success in the aviation industry.
Drawing upon his wealth of knowledge in the field as well as his outstanding leadership abilities, David serves as a Captain with QantasLink, which is a combination of Airlink, Eastern Australia Airlines and Sunstate Airlines, and is Australia’s largest regional airline. The company operates around 2,000 flights each week to 54 metropolitan and regional destinations across Australia and Papua New Guinea, employing around 1,000 people in both metropolitan and regional locations including Tamworth, Newcastle, Cairns, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.
Over the course of his incredibly impressive career, David has logged nearly 16,000 hours and he plans on retiring at some point in the next few years. He is currently in charge of a team that transports people safely and economically from place to place. Mr. Harrison has also held an interest in amateur radio for over 45 years, having been licensed for over 30 years with a combination of boat anchors and modern radios.
In addition to the considerable amount of expertise through his voluminous professional experience, David is also a highly educated individual who earned a Certificate in Electrical Engineering as an Electronics and Communication Technician from the Darling Downs Institute of Advanced Education. He is also the holder of an Air Transport Pilot License.
Evidencing his remarkable reputation in the professional community, Mr. Harrison is a member of the Australian Federation of Air Pilots and the United Grand Lodge of Queensland as a Freemason in the craft lodge, the 18th degree and Royal Arch. Earlier in his career, David spent eight years with the Royal Australian Air Force, where he served as an Equipment Officer.
