Douglas M. Weissman, MD, FACP, Represents South Florida with Entry into Renowned Publication The Leading Physicians of the World
The Leading Physicians of the World and the International Association of Internists welcome Douglas M. Weissman, MD, FACP, to a new standard of leading physicians as a result of his exceptional accomplishments as a gastroenterologist in the Coral Springs, FL community. In private practice since 1993, Dr. Weissman has consistently demonstrated the dedication, excellence, and passion for patient care necessary to be considered among the best during his years in practice. He is commonly known as South Florida’s leading gastroenterologist and internal medicine specialist.
Dr. Weissman possesses dual certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology, respectively. In 1985, he began his career by graduating from Howard University College of Medicine with his medical degree. From there, he completed his internship and residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital in internal medicine. This hospital is the major teaching affiliate of Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. After these steps were completed, Dr. Weissman went to Mt. Sinai Medical School to complete his fellowship program. While there, he received the honor of Therapeutic Biliary Endoscopic Procedures in Santiago, Chile; under the guise of Jerome Waye, MD.
In 1993, Dr. Weissman went into private practice serving Southern Florida. The practice serves to those suffering from IBS, polyps, ulcers, acid reflux, and other common gastrointestinal problems. A main feature of his practice is the endoscopy procedure, commonly used to detect colon and other gastrointestinal problems. Dr. Weissman is also a published author, with articles in Endoscopy, American Journal of Gastroenterology, and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His articles feature several gastric disorders and bleeding that may result from them.
