Dr. Charles L. Halstead Earns Membership With Stanford Who’s Who
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, February 1, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who/ -- Stanford Who’s Who proudly welcomes Dr. Charles L. Halstead to the exclusive ranks of premier professionals as a result of his exceptional effort in the healthcare industry. Throughout his brilliant professional career, Dr. Halstead routinely demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.
Dr. Charles L. Halstead most recently served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the newly established King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. For years, he has developed and continues to develop microcomputer programs applicable to professional education and clinical practice. Dr. Halstead is Professor Emeritus at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. He served as Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Chairman of the Department of Oral Medicine for 26 years which included the Radiology Division.
Dr. Halstead has been responsible for authoring numerous journal articles as well as several monographs and self-instructional slide/tape programs in differential diagnosis. He has spent the past 3 years devoted to developing a CD-ROM project, which includes over 2800 images of clinical photos and radiographs. These programs include Differential Diagnosis of Osseous Tissue Pathosis as well as Oral Soft Tissue Pathosis, Dentition Abnormalities, Periodontal Abnormalities, Soft Tissue Pathosis, Oral Pathology Electronic Atlas and Diagnostic Aid and Resource Tool. Additionally, Dr. Halstead has given many continuing education programs and lectured throughout the world on Differential Diagnosis of Oral Disease and the utilization of computers as a diagnostic aid in Dentistry.
During his collegiate career, Dr. Halstead earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia, Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Medical College of Virginia, and a Master of Science degree in Pathology from Emory University. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the American Board of Pathology. In his free time Dr. Halstead acts as a President of the Hawthorne YMCA Youth Activity Program and the Lakeside High School Football Booster Club.
