In addition to his numerous years of practicing medicine, Dr. Lee is the inventor of the “Lee’s Speculum”, which is an innovative instrument that allows women to be comfortable while receiving a Pap Smear or other gynecological examinations. He has also published various articles on numerous medical topics and he is the author of Treatise on Anxiety, Stress, Depression and Suicide Prevention, The Simple Layman's guide to differentiating Depression, Stress, Anxiety and Suicide Risk, and the Doug Lee Paradigm for the differentiation, diagnosis, and treatment of Depression, Stress, and Anxiety.

Prior to beginning his brilliant career, Dr. Lee graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1979, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree. While attending college, he participated in research and gained field experience with the neurology unit at the University of California Medical Center and at the Inland Medical Service in the north west Queensland region. Dr. Lee also earned a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Auckland in 1984.

Evidencing his remarkable reputation in the healthcare industry, Dr. Lee is a Diplomat of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, through which he also earned a Diploma in Obstetrics. He is also a member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Australian Medical Association, and the Acupuncture Association of Australia.
