Established in 1986, Bison Historical Services Ltd. is an organization which provides high-quality archaeological expertise for government and industry clients. Over the past 26 years, the organization has completed over 1,500 studies and has been involved in some of the most significant archaeological investigations ever undertaken in Alberta. Bison Historical Services Ltd. has offices in Calgary, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg, and serves a diverse client base throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northern Ontario.

He is a member of the Association of Consulting Archaeologists, Canadian Archaeological Association, Society for American Archaeology, Chacmool Archaeology Association, and the Archaeological Society of Alberta. Dr. Goldsmith and his wife Laura reside in Calgary, Alberta, and enjoy hiking and gardening in the spare moments between raising their seven children.
