Over the course of his career, Gary accumulated considerable experience in the government sector, private sector and community sector. Among his roles in government, Mr. Hodge served as Director General of Transport for Western Australia, Assistant Director General of Education in Queensland, and Executive Director of the Office of Road Safety. In these positions, he played an integral role in the achievement of large scale community and industry behavior change, ground-breaking medical research into spinal and head injury repair, community safety and crime prevention, the performing and visual arts, and education and training.

Although he has gathered a substantial amount of his expertise through his voluminous and varied professional experience, Gary is also an extensively educated individual who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Arts degree in Education (Organizational Psychology Dissertation) from the University of Durham. Additionally, Mr. Hodge has completed the Harvard Business School Leadership Action Learning Program, an innovative Harvard program that was taught by Harvard Business School leaders in Perth.
