Northwest Nations Education Council (NNEC) is an independent education authority representing the five First Nations schools in the Battleford area of Saskatchewan, Canada. The Northwest Nations Education Council is a publically funded organization by Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), which serves more than 1,200 students in 5 schools operating in the Little Pine, Poundmaker, Sweetgrass, Red Pheasant, and Mosquito Grizzly Bear Head communities.
Gerry Guillet assumed his challenging role as Director of Education and CEO for Northwest Nations Education Council in 2005. Drawing on his extensive skills and knowledge in education management, Gerry successfully embraced his leadership responsibilities of handling education programs in reserve schools. With an aboriginal ancestry, Gerry demonstrates an unwavering commitment to ensuring better educational opportunities for First Nations students.
Mr. Guillet’s dedicated more than 25 years to his capacity as Senior Administrator in various provincial and federal jurisdictions. He is highly regarded for his exceptional skills in curriculum development, school reviews with recommendations, teacher evaluation and supervision, staff development, and education reform.
Despite acquiring a vast part of his expertise through professional experience, Gerry Guillet also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Administration and Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Saskatchewan. Evidencing his dedication to his profession, he is also a member of Education Management Professionals.
