John Fiso Honored For Achievements With The New Zealand Institute of Sport

As Founder and CEO of the New Zealand Institute of Sport, as well as throughout his entire career, John has consistently exhibited extraordinary expertise in effective teaching, educational leadership, strategic planning, and public speaking.
The New Zealand Institute of Sport (NZIS) is a tertiary education provider addressing the needs of students who are interested in pursuing a career in sport, fitness or recreation. The Institute provides specialist courses in sport management, personal training, pre-police training, and exercise prescription. All courses are approved by NZQA and serve both academic and sporting needs. The New Zealand Institute of Sport has sites in Wellington, Christchurch, and Auckland with various accommodation options available in each location. The Institute also boasts three sporting academies for rugby, basketball, high performance, and volleyball, which are second to none in providing students with expert training and coaching strategy.
John Fiso is the Founder and CEO of the New Zealand Institute of Sport, which he launched in 1996. In addition, he is the President and CEO of the New Zealand College of Massage, which he joined in 2011. John Fiso is highly regarded as a seasoned education expert with over 20 years of uniquely diversified experience in education management, learning strategies, and education performance.
Paralleling his work with the New Zealand Institute of Sport, he served as member on the Board of Directors with AKO Aotearoa and Chairman of Board, Executive Board Member and Vice President with NZAPEP. John is also Past President of the New Zealand Association of Private Education Providers and President of the Pacific Island Tertiary Providers of New Zealand.
Despite acquiring a vast part of his expertise through professional experience, John Fiso also built a solid academic foundation that includes his studies in Physical Education with the University of Otago (1983), Post Graduate Diploma in Linguistics and Learning for English as a Second Language with the Victoria University of Wellington (1990), Graduate Diploma of Teaching in Physical Education and Economics with Christchurch Teachers College (1995), and completion of the Icehouse Owner Manager Programme with Auckland University (2012).
