Mark A. Vimr, RN, MSN, CHE Represents Ontario with Entry into Renowned Publication Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare
Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare and the International Nurses Association are proud to announce that Mark A. Vimr, RN, MSN, CHE, is being honored for his exceptional successes in the nursing community. With many years in the industry, Mark has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in his field.
Mark is the Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A community teaching hospital, St. Joseph’s is a Catholic hospital serving Southwestern Toronto. As a chief health executive, Mark has played a key leadership role in implementing the hospital's E-care Program: with a goal of establishing fully electronic health records for the entire hospital by 2014. He has also been involved in developing tools for health human resource planning and is currently leading an initiative to re-design the interprofessional models of care for the hospital. In Spring 2011, Mark published an article in Healthcare Management Forum entitled “Building Physician Capacity for Transformational Leadership”; discussing preparation for physicians as hospital leaders.
In 1984, Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and went on to receive his Master of Science in Nursing Administration in 1989 from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. In 2010, Mark completed a Fellowship in Executive Training in Research Application, from the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation. In his current role, Mark is a non-voting member of the Board of Directors for St. Joseph’s. He is also a member of the Canadian College of Health Care Leaders earning the Certified Health Executive designation, and an active member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
