Maryanne O. Englander Fits In The Design Of Stanford Who’s Who

COHASSET, MA,   January 19, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who/ -- Maryanne O. Englander has been accepted into the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who’s Who as a result of her exceptional entrepreneurial effort in the jewelry industry. Throughout her brilliant professional career, Maryanne has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be successful in the business world.

Maryanne is the Owner and Designer of Dragonfly Studios, a company that creates unique, artistic jewelry. The name Dragonfly Studios originated from Maryanne’s love for traveling and fascination with different cultures. Her interest in crosses peaked as a result of her experiencing different cultures and she found herself with a dilemma as she couldn’t call her company “the Cross” or “Crosses Studios.” After hearing her teacher, a famous Navajo jeweler, mention that sometimes Native weavers use the dragonfly as a design element instead of a cross Maryanne found that the dragonfly is a symbol of rebirth, or new beginnings. She states, "the rest as they say is history!"

As a designer, Maryanne is inspired by spiritual evolution and a natural curiosity which enables her to design one of a kind jewelry that emphasizes knotting and its connection to the human form. Her work speaks of various cultural elements as she blends them together with color combinations observed in nature. This works well with the designs and allows Maryanne to keep the pieces unique. As owner Maryanne is responsible for managing all major aspects of the business as well as overseeing the daily operations.

During her collegiate career, Maryanne earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wheaton College. Always seeking further knowledge as well as looking to expand her creative abilities and vision, she has gone on to study Native American jewelry making and Celtic artistry. Maryanne is also a charitable individual who is actively involved in community service through volunteer work.
