Rita P. Raman, MD, MS, JD, FAAP, MACN, FACLM, Represents Oklahoma with Entry into Renowned Publication The Leading Physicians of the World

Representing the neonatal-perinatal physicians of Oklahoma, Rita P. Raman, MD, MS, JD, FAAP, MACN, FACLM, has been selected by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals, IAHCP, to represent her community in the publication of The Leading Physicians of the World.  In practice for over 40 years, Dr. Raman represents the commitment, dedication, and passion for patient care needed to receive this esteemed honor.

Dr. Raman maintains a position at the Children's Hospital at Oklahoma University Medical Center that is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Children’s Hospital holds the largest and highest level neonatal intensive care unit in the state. Dr. Raman is a well-versed, board certified neonatal-perinatal physician with specific expertise and clinical interest in nutrition, body composition, mineral metabolism, and disease management within her young patients. Dr. Raman provides  care for premature and full-term infants with a complex of neonatal problems. Over the course of her career, she has studied many different fields such as biochemistry, pediatrics, and legal medicine; currently being a Juris Doctor as well as a neonatal-perinatal physician. For all of her outstanding work and level of excellence, Dr. Raman was the past President of the American College of Nutrition, currently being a Master of the association; also being Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and of the American College of Legal Medicine.

She graduated in 1971 from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research with the Best Outgoing Student Award. Upon completion, Dr. Raman relocated to the United States where she attended Westchester County Medical Center for an internship and Misericordia Hospital Medical Center for a residency program. Dr. Raman, being an advocate for continued education, then completed a fellowship program at the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.  She also obtained a Master's Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 1985 from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and her Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma city Law School in 1997.
