Dr. Romy Kerwin is currently a political advisor for the South Korean government.  Her advice has facilitated improved relations between the government of this economic power and other great nations including Canada and the United States.  Her work has also helped the South Korean gas and oil industry expand its market share and pioneer new initiatives in under-developed resource-rich areas.

Romy is involved with Korean War Veterans in Toronto and is active in researching the history of Japanese immigrants to Canada for the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.  Romy is often engaged in lecturing on geopolitical events and remains active in a number of prestigious think tanks, which offer advice to leading international organizations. Over the course of her career Romy has also worked for now Secretary General of the United Nations, HE Ban Ki-moon.

Dr. Romy Kerwin received her Baccalaureate from the Lycee Emmanuel D’Alzon, before graduating from the University Paul Valery.  She also attended the University of Toronto and Penn State University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s Degree in Education, Psychology and French studies.  She went on to obtain her PhD in Social History.

Romy is involved in several international organizations including the North Korea Forum and ChinaWatch and has also done volunteer work in South America with diabetes, which Romy states is an endemic to the region as many people are never diagnosed.

Romy has 2 adult children, a daughter and son and an adorable daughter named Joy that she adopted from China.
