Total Fitness Clubs today announced the results from their 2010 Fall Fitness Challenge, a 10-week health & fitness competition. Overall results included a combined 4-club weight loss of 784 pounds, an average of over 20lbs per person. This is the 8th Fitness Challenge Total Fitness Clubs has offered and participating members, both men and women, have lost an average of 14% body weight, 30-50 pounds (healthy and maintained).
Four Fitness Challenge Teams consisted of 37 club members from Bristol Total Fitness, Swansea Total Fitness, Seekonk Total Fitness and Dartmouth Total Fitness. Teams competed against each other to shed pounds and body fat with the help of personal trainers/coaches. Fitness Challenge scores were based on a combination of performance and participation: gym attendance, food journal entries, group exercise class attendance, weight loss % and team challenge attendance.

It’s an opportunity for our members to achieve health & fitness goals, inspiring themselves and others.”
Participants started the Challenge with an Initial timed one mile during the first week of the challenge which was compared to the one mile timed during the last week of the Challenge which showed participants improved their times by an average of 24%. Other Team Challenges included: kickball, volleyball, boot camp class held at Colt State Park, 5km road race.
